The Beach!

While the boys played golf, the rest of us played in the pool. Sydney, Grandma, Josh, Christina, Juliet, Maddie, (and look closely to see my feet!)

Sydney and Granddaddy!

Giggles!

Not the HIGHLIGHT of the beach trip- but riding the cart was fun, of course!

Poor Sydney. She was WORN out! Yes. She fell asleep at the table during lunch... poor girl.

Maddie enjoyed the pool of water that had collected in a valley of the beach. It could have been a "tide pool" but it appeared more like a "cess pool!" But... it had schools of minnows. Mom caught some! and we caught a tadpole, too!

During a nighttime crab hunt, Granddaddy and Josh caught a sand crab. Granddaddy bought a crab box... which came with a FREE hermit crab. Maddie thought they were both HER pets. Oops. We kept the crabs all day, and Josh, Maddie, Granddaddy, Carrie, and Christina went on a nighttime crab hunt that night. They let the sand crab go, and caught a few more (which were released that night.) Josh and Maddie BOTH got a hermit crab to take home.
(Thanks Granddaddy!)

Crab hunting at night... Baby sand crabs.

The hotel had a "splash pad" that the girls really loved.

Aquarium

The kids had a great time splashing around in the water streams outside the aquarium. I think that was the most fun they had all day, even though we know they enjoyed the aquarium, too!

Maddie, Pierson, and Sydney. We could NEVER get a picture of all three looking! Go figure. That's what happens with a nearly one-year-old, a two year old, and a nearly three-year-old.

Someone should tell her it's not a pool for swimming.

Maddie, Daddy, and turtles!

"Come here, birdie. It's ok. Come here. I like you. It's ok. Come here!"

My camera has an "aquarium" setting, but it wasn't good at aquarium plus people.

I spy a BLUE frog!

I praticularly giggled at these three frogs. Something about butt kissing came to mind.

I spy a butterfly!

Maddie wanted a closer look.

Maddie and Pierson.
I spy a BIG crab. Maddie kept calling it a spider.

Wonder and awe.

Wonder and awe for two.

Dad and Mad

Maddie and Sydney! (Syd is soooooo close to walking! Soon!)

Phil and Pierson, Q and Sydney, Carrie and Maddie.
Amanda didn't make this picture since she was behind the camera.

Pierson and the penguins. They were the first stop of the day. I'm not sure Pierson understood that the penguins couldn't make it through the glass, he was a bit startled when this one dove at him. He actually fell off the little ledge RIGHT after this was taken. No worries, he wasn't hurt!

Maddie and the penguins!

Sharks... Fish.. and kids. Sydney WAVED to the fish and tapped the glass (sorry fishies) and Maddie declared that that shark was Bruce (of Finding Nemo).

It was a fabulous day! We enjoyed adult company, and Maddie and Pierson kept each other and the adults entertained! Syd stayed awake for the entire tour- river and ocean! She was asleep before we bucked Maddie in! We saw Nemo, Dorrie, Bruce, and all the other really important characters from Finding Nemo.

Golf Withdrawl.

Despite the fact that Q played as much golf as he could in the two weeks prior to surgery, he is still suffering withdrawal. He is hallucinating. We are growing very concerned.

Mushroom Golf. Ever heard of it? It's messy.
Invented by the same folks who created cow tipping, I think.

Even Maddie knew something wasn't quite right...

But she still got a swing lesson!

Happy Fourth of July!

GOD
BLESS AMERICA!

Daddy and his girls decked out in red, white, and blue!
That is just a lizard tattoo on her arm.

The July girls.

The Turner family at the Annual Creekstone Fourth of July Parade.

Q pulled the wagon for the girls.
Sydney kept trying to stand up in the wagon.
It was a bit stressful.

Our decorating job didn't win first prize.
Who would have thought? (sarcasm)

But Q is plotting a FLOAT for next year's parade.
He says he'll win in 2009.

I am just glad we made it to the parade before they started!
We put the garland and bow on the wagon in the front yard at the last minute.

ANOTHER tattoo. Maddie loves them.
We are a little worried. Hopefully she'll outgrow the fascination!

Sydney- Our "little firecracker" & Madeline "Old Glory" Turner.
This is Madeline's THIRD Fourth of July parade!

No, it's not a movie star- just Sydney Jo!

POPSICLE!
"uuuu aa yyy uuung"
(Look at my tongue)

Sydney beat the heat with an orange popsicle.
