Our Pretty Things

In our yard we have some pretty things..

Yes. it's a real flower that we grew in our very own yard.



We have pretty lilies. They are taller than Maddie, almost as tall as me.




Gorgeous gladiolas...



And some pretty periwinkle balloon flowers.
Maddie likes to pop the balloon flowers that aren't open yet.

Daddy's Clothes

Grandma Shelia made Q some new pants to sport during recovery.
Maddie wanted to try them on.





The Girls looked so cute in these shirts. My Daddy's the Big Kahuna!
We thought it would make him smile and lift his spirits.

Whipped Cream Kiss

We had whipped cream piled on top of our cookies.
We schmeared it on our lips and kissed.
Then it got silly.

Q the Patient

The day of surgery, June 11, 2008. Q moves to the chair! WOO HOO!


Post Op Day 1: June 12, 2008: Look Ma, no nose hoses! Q walks for the first time! Soon everyone will be carrying catheter bags- the hottest new handbags around!




Still Post Op Day 1: June 12. 2008. Maddie and Papa lead Q on walk number 2!


Q's recovering well from colon resection surgery Wednesday, June 11.
Keep praying that we will win the battle with chemo treatments!

The Wedding!

Ben and Rachel tied the knot on Friday, June 6th in a lovely ceremony atop Monte Sano Mountain. We couldn't be happier at Ben's match! Rachael has been family for a long time, but now it's more official!




Maddie was bestowed with the honor of being a flower girl in the ceremony. She did a good job. She was second in beauty only to the bride and a certain bridesmaid who had a certain "glow" about her.







It was wonderful to be part of the weekend! To be surrounded by family- nothing better!


Flower Girls love their Grandmas, too!







They borrow Sydney to get Melissa's "fix." They would look good with their own, though!
